Next time you are passing through Be'er Sheva, stop in at מילבה Mileva Marić Einstein. This funky bar/resto opened the week I began my journey here in Israel. Not withstanding that I have been by far the oldest patron, this has been my feeding ground for the past week. The place starts hopping after I leave at 9:30. The boys have my seat at the bar always available for me and chef Moishe (picture above) knows my order. I couldn't drink this week due to my painkillers but Yotan knew a pint glass of water would have to do.
Some of you may know I had to leave Aleh Negev last week by ambulance as I fell off a broken rolling stool while I was preparing to feed lunch to a resident. Fractured my clavicle and my spirits-temporarily.
It has been a week of pain and healing and reflection. I hope my pain will be eased with the painkillers. I hope that I am healed enough to endure the long flight home tomorrow. And mostly I want to keep the wonderous feelings I have in my נשמה neshema/soul from my time at Aleh Negev.
Each day I learned new things about myself, the facility, the staff, the residents and the magic. The magic of doing something that was bigger than me. That made me a better person. I have always had the nurturing gene, the giving gene, genes that my mom דבורה passed onto me but the AN experience has renew me in a way quite undescribable with words.
I want to thank the people of Aleh Negev, especially Doron Almog for his vision, JNF-Avnet Kleiner and Sharon Freedman for allowing me this privilege. And of course my family. B'H

I hope I have the opportunity to hit repeat.....
after all I'm #poweredbyJNF❤️
